Soy is found on the market under various forms: milk, soybeans, grains, cubes, cheese and others. Though some products might not have the best taste ever, they are proved to be very helpful as a dietary treatment for improving or relieving annoying menopause symptoms. Some soy products contain phytoestrogens and isoflavones, estrogens – like substances found in many plants. Studies have shown the benefits of phytoestrogens similar to those of HRT but without presenting the risk of heart attack and stroke. Also the dietary therapy with soy products will help reducing the symptoms of menopause as hot flashes and lower the risks for conditions like osteoporosis..
Here are some tips on how to add soy to your diet:
- - Use soy cheese instead of normal cheese. It may take a while until you get used to its taste or until you find the right one for you.
- - Tofu. Although it is said not to have a great taste, nowadays, there are hundreds of recipes for tofu.
- - Edamame (green soybeans that come loose or in a pod) are fun to eat and a great way to include soy as a snack or appetizer.
- - Soybeans can replace beans in chilli or bean recipe.
- - Soy – based yogurt. It may taste better if it is mixed with fruits.

- - Soy milk. As the yogurt, it may get a better taste mixed with fruits or use it to make milkshakes or blended drinks. The soy milk can also be used in soups, puddings or hot cereals instead of cow milk or cream.
